About Sterling Davenport (Davey)

Hello,

My name is Sterling Davenport. Alot of people who I grew up with know me as Davey. Then when I tell them Davey it is a nickname, they wanna know why. I want to clear this up right now once and for all. Hopefully I won’t get asked to many more times.

My whole name is Sterling (Middle Name removed for saftey’s sake but it isn’t Davey) Davenport. I was named after my grandfather (whom I never got to meet) who was in the army. Well, in the day they used to call fellow soldiers by their last name (still do) and instead of calling my grandpa Davenport, they called him Davey.

Ta Daa. There you have it.

Now, on with the story. I grew up in a small town in Southern Tennessee called Lawrenceburg. It was (is) the county seat of Lawrence County. A time when MTV was just starting, Elvis had died, Richard Nixon got busted, and cassettes were taking over Vinyl.
